“See What I Mean – a Visual Dictionary Project” (SWIM) is an Erasmus+ funded project.
It aims to strengthen key competences of students and provide more effective opportunities to acquire and develop skills that are important for competitiveness in the labour market. It also aims to build the language skills of adults by engaging them with tailored learning resources to support their ongoing linguistic and professional development. To this end, new approaches to supporting the professional development of adult educators, trainers and mentors will be introduced.
These aims will be achieved by producing guidelines for education professionals on how to create and use visual dictionaries in their work to achieve better learning outcomes, and by creating and piloting a range of visual dictionary resources to assess their perceived usefulness to learners. The project partnership will develop a modern, user-friendly online environment “Visual Dictionary Online Creator” to support these teaching and learning methods and to present and offer the resources produced. At the end of the project, a recommendation document will be produced based on the findings of the project.
