“SUHET: Creating and Implementing Education for Sustainable High-end Tourism throughout Europe” (2022-2024), ref. number: 2021-1-FI01-KA220-HED-000031996, is implemented under the Erasmus+ programme, Key Action 2: Partnerships for Cooperation in the field of Higher Education.

The project has developed a MOOC course on “Sustainable high-end tourism” available freely here: https://www.coursera.org/learn/sustainable-high-end-tourism

The main goal of the project is to provide the field of tourism in the participating countries with highly-qualified staff able to respond to current high-end customer needs and foresight future development trends sustainably. The long-term benefits of the project include strengthening the regions’ economy, generating new jobs, steady income, increasing sustainable tourism activities, international networking with other high-end tourism providers in online community, new projects, cooperation with partners to develop new services and businesses with other high-end tourism enterprises.

The intellectual outputs developed by the SUHET project comprise:

  • Development of MOOC tools
  • Portfolio of case studies

The results of the SUHET project are targeted at:

The developed curriculum and learning content bring various benefits for the different target groups:

  • HE teachers: will gain a teaching base ready to be incorporated in their own education and training offers and used in day-to-day teaching activities.
  • Teachers: will gain access to a new, up-to-date teaching content and methodology.
  • Students: will gain improved knowledge of sustainable luxury tourism and improved skills of customer service in the high-end tourism sector.
  • Tourism businesses: will benefit from the enhanced cooperation with HEIs through the co-design of a new course aligned with the current industry trends and skills needs.
