ShiftVET – Digital Skills for the Future of Woodworking VET
ShiftVET is an Erasmus+ cooperation project that aims to modernise vocational education and training (VET) in the woodworking and furniture sectors by integrating advanced digital manufacturing technologies into learning environments.
The project focuses on three key technologies that are transforming the industry: 3D printing, 3D scanning, and CNC machining. Through the development of educational resources, practical exercises, training activities, and pilot testing with students and trainers, ShiftVET helps VET providers equip learners with the digital and technical skills required by the evolving labour market.
The partnership brings together organisations from different European countries to identify training needs, develop innovative learning materials, test new teaching approaches, and promote the adoption of Industry 4.0 technologies in vocational education. The project also encourages collaboration between training centres and industry, ensuring that educational content reflects real workplace requirements.
Main objectives:
- Improve digital and technical competencies of VET students and trainers.
- Integrate advanced manufacturing technologies into woodworking education.
- Develop practical and accessible training materials for EQF 3-5 learners.
- Increase the attractiveness and quality of vocational training.
- Strengthen links between education and industry needs.
By supporting the digital transformation of woodworking education, ShiftVET contributes to a more skilled, innovative, and future-ready workforce across Europe.
