EFDI

The UN Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities establishes the right of persons with disabilities to education. Inclusive education and lifelong learning should be guaranteed.

Yet even today, adults with intellectual disabilities have few opportunities to acquire comprehensive knowledge on the topics of climate protection and sustainability. One reason for this is the lack of suitable educational materials and barrier-free accessible information.

In the EFDI project, tailor-made offers for people with intellectual disabilities and/or high support needs as well as inclusive educational materials are developed, which contribute to a growing awareness of climate protection and the environment and an ecologically conscious lifestyle.

Four project partners from the fields of sustainability and disability support are working closely together in this two-year project.

In addition to educational offers, we will develop methods, campaigns and initiatives that will serve as a starting point for all people who want to become active for a healthy environment.

People with intellectual disabilities are involved in all stages of the project and will be the initiators of two campaigns for climate protection.
