Be Aware

In the EU 3 million employees are affected by sexual harassment at the workplace. Although as stated from the European Parliament 2018 sexual harassment is defined in EU law as ‘where any form of unwanted verbal, non-verbal or physical conduct of a sexual nature occurs, with the purpose
or effect of violating the dignity of a person, in particular when creating an intimidating, hostile,
degrading, humiliating or offensive environment.

Be Aware is a 3-year project funded by the European Commission Erasmus+ KA2 Programme. It involves five partners from Austria, Bulgaria, Lithuania, Spain and Turkey. The aims of the project is the development of a certificated training for Be Aware mentors ((worker representatives, human
resource managers, trainers and supervisors), a systematic approach to the topic, the development of strategies and concrete actions in the context of prevention and support systems, to create methods and tools for the professional handling of sexual harassment at the workplace as well as sensitisation and reduction of sexual harassment at the workplace in general.
