Founded in 2009, AMUEBLA is a comprised of group of stakeholders working together to address needs in the furniture and habitat sector, representing the interests of more than 80 companies and over 2,500 employees. It is a non-profit association, characterized as a combination of companies, research and training centers (public and private) involved in facilitating innovative practices and improving the competitiveness of its partner’s companies, as well as defending its general business interests and promoting its projection and international visibility.
AMUEBLA is also closely associated two Higher Education entities (University of Murcia and Technical University of Cartagena), the Technical Research Centre of Furniture and Wood of the Region of Murcia (CETEM) and two public bodies (Murcia´s Regional Development Agency and the Regional Association of Woodworking Entrepreneurs).
As AMUEBLA is in direct contact with the furniture industry, sectorial associations, commerce chambers, trade unions, public bodies and VET providers, its main activities are based on the promotion of joint actions between the companies and the establishment regarding innovation practices and training activities, among others.
That is why AMUEBLA has participated in the development of the training content in elernia, the online learning platform promoted by CETEM and the Regional Wood Association (AREMA) for workers and unemployed in the wood and furniture sector.
AMUEBLA has also participated in other European calls as a project coordinator, such as the GPP Furniture project and the ‘Women in Power’ project, and as a partner in the ECO4VET, BOSS4SME, Cluster4Smart, FURN360, FLAME, EASIMS, Design4Circle, INNO Industry, TABLE, HAePPI, SAMANTHA, Women Making Waves and ALLVIEW projects. It has collaborated assisting to meetings, checking content, content development and dissemination tasks in Ecomovel, Ecosign, VETAAL, Next1Koat and Ecopresswood projects.
AMUEBLA is registered in the European Cluster Collaboration Platform and has just renovated the Bronze Cluster Certification on 2018. Moreover, AMUEBLA is involved in platforms related with the habitat and construction sector such as the Forest-Based Sector Technology Platform or the European Strategic Cluster Partnership on Sustainable Construction.
