DevOps Academy

The Erasmus+ project DevOps Academy aims at makingthe DevOps profession more accessible and inclusive across Europe. In today’s technological landscape, DevOps roles are often considered to be accessible only to individuals with computer science degrees or advanced IT backgrounds. This can act as a barrier for many people, particularly women and other underrepresented groups. The DevOps Academy seeks to overcome these obstacles by providing an affordable, inclusive, and innovative training programme that allows adults from various backgrounds to enter the DevOps sector and flourish in it. At the same time, sustainability principles are integrated into the technical training.

Objectives:
The project’s main objective is to increase access to DevOps training and reduce the gender gap in the IT sector by creating a new sustainable DevOps training model. The project aims to equip learners, particularly those without prior technical experience, with the technical, social, and environmental skills necessary to pursue a career in one of the most in-demand digital professions.

Implementation:
To achieve this, the DevOps Academy will:

  • develop a competency framework for sustainable DevOps, outlining the most important technical and social skills for beginners
  • design inclusive training materials and awareness-raising resources that prioritise sustainability and accessibility
  • pilot innovative educational programmes in partner countries and test and refine the developed materials
  • produce insights and experience guides to promote the adoption and scalability of project results across Europe.

Expected results:

The project will develop a fully operational DevOps Academy offering comprehensive, inclusive training with multilingual resources. The expected results are improved gender diversity in the DevOps workforce, enhanced employability for adult learners and a transferability manual to ensure the project’s results are sustainable and reproducible. Ultimately, the DevOps Academy will contribute to the development of a European learning community dedicated to promoting best practices, innovation, and diversity in the IT sector. This will help to create a more equitable and sustainable digital future.
