Nowadays it is very important to raise awareness and develop competences for preventing environmental and climate-change challenges. Therefore, different initiatives regarding the issues of sustainability, circular economy and Lean should be integrated into education, especially also into the education of VET students in order to develop their responsibility as citizens and employees.

Thus, the Erasmus+ project Train2Sustain (2020-2022) aims at developing the skills among VET teachers and trainers to train their colleagues and students in sustainability issues for work and life, the concept of circular economy and how these can be facilitated by Lean thinking.

To achieve this goal the consortium of the project, which consists of 5 different partners from 4 countries, will work on the following results:

  • Basic theory training package to train teachers/trainers on sustainability, circular economy and Lean issues
  • Electronic toolbox which contains experimental and inductive activities to be carried out in group or as an individual to develop a deeper understanding of sustainability and circular economy facilitated by Lean
  • Four digital virtual 360 environments from different industries which facilitate independent, individual e-learning
  • Teachers training guidance/manual to facilitate easy usage of the material and to explain how the IO´s are to be used and are linked together

With these results we will build capacity and confidence of teachers and trainers in teaching sustainability and circular economy combined with Lean principles in innovative ways. Furthermore, we will contribute to providing all students with valuable knowledge and skills on these topics by the time they graduate.
